Parent Letter – Spirit Day Rules Grades 9-12

September 2013

Dear Parents:

On Thursday, September 26th, students in grades 9-12 will participate in Spirit Day sponsored by the Student Council.  Spirit day has been organized to foster school pride.

Classes will be conducted in the morning as usual.  At the conclusion of period two (9:20 AM), Spirit Day activities will begin.  All four classes will compete against each other in a variety of field day activities.  All activities will be chaperoned by our regular faculty and staff.  We anticipate the day to be full of fun and excitement. (PM BOCES students may be excused from their classes to participate in Spirit Day.  BOCES students who want to participate must see Mr. Galati to be excused.)

On Friday, September 20th, the guidelines for Spirit Day will be distributed.  I have copied these guidelines on the back of this notice so that you have the opportunity to review them with your child in advance.  Students will not be excused from Spirit Day activities unless a parental note is provided to me two days prior to the event.  Excuse notes and/or phone calls will not be allowed on Spirit Day.  In the event too few students are interested in remaining on campus to participate in activities, Spirit Day celebrations will be cancelled and classes will take place.

In the interim, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call me.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.

Yours truly,

William R. Galati

Principal
